Pandemic Policies and Practices: A Conversation on Allocating Scarce Resources

Join us as we examine an issue affecting public health and clinical care workers nationwide: how to implement a fair and transparent approach for allocating scarce resources. Our guest speaker, Dr. Douglas White, UPMC Endowed Chair for Ethics in Critical Care Medicine in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, consolidated 10 years of research efforts into a model policy to assist hospitals and health care systems to distribute critical care resources during a public health emergency. We explore how he developed the model policy developed, who provided input, and the important features.
